Vintage Russian Hand Painted Lacquer Brooch

A beautiful Russian lacquer brooch hand painted and signed on the back. Marked made in USSR. The brooch features two back to back firebirds standing on a branch each with a single large flower below. The central painting is surrounded by delicate gold detail work on a deep burgundy background. The brooch is oval with a simple safety pin embedded in the back. Purchased in the USSR in the early 1980s and never worn.
