WWII Souvenir Trench Art Ring Paris 1945

Here is a well worn ring brought back from WWII. Made of brass and plated in silver. It features a hand stippled cursive engraving of July Paris 45. Blank rings were sold to soldiers who could choose to have them engraved or create their own, known as trench art. These rings were common souvenirs for soldiers of the time. This one was clearly worn for many years after the war as most of the silver has worn off. A poignant reminder of a defining time in world history.
